With almost half the ballots left to count, the final outcome of the Redwood City council race has yet to be determined, but considering our position I’d like to take this opportunity to relay my deepest appreciation for everyone involved in our campaign.
This has been an incredible experience, and in many ways has felt like a homecoming to run for office in the community that shaped who I am today.
We entered the race last but more than recovered lost time by running a vigorous, substantive campaign based on the issues. I’m very proud of the race we ran together.
I want to thank my family and Chris for being boulders of love and support. I could not have done this without them.
Thank you to my dear friends, colleagues and mentors, my supporters, endorsers, and volunteers who worked so hard on this race.
Thank you to my fellow candidates, whose spirited campaigns came from a deep place of passion and care for our community.
And thank you to the entire Redwood City community for being receptive to our message and embracing me for who I am.
The very likely election of Vice Mayor Howard and Planning Commissioner Giselle Hale, along with the strong support of Measure RR, proves that the overwhelming majority of Redwood City residents believe in the Redwood City of today and support a vibrant, diverse future for our community based on shared values.
Despite this setback for me, we will not be deterred in fighting for our community, for our values, and for a welcoming City.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ... See MoreSee Less
