I'm thrilled and honored to announce that I have accepted the position of Executive Director of the Redwood City Education Foundation - RCEF, an organization I've been proud to serve as a board member for the past four years. Founded in 1983 to prevent cuts to critical in-school programs, RCEF raises funds to support the Redwood City School District's budget.
There are many reasons why I decided to step into this role at this particular moment in the organization’s history and in my own personal and professional development, and I plan to share more in the coming weeks and months.
But for now I simply want to express my sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors for your faith in my leadership and your commitment to our shared vision for the organization, as well as the former board members and volunteers whose work shaped my life as an RCSD alum in truly profound ways.
Of course this announcement is bittersweet, as my second tour of duty at Stanford comes to a close. It's been an honor and welcomed professional challenge to work for an organization with such vast and deep global influence, and to leverage that influence to make a positive impact here in our local communities. To give back to Stanford has been wonderfully gratifying.
There's much more to say in due time, and I look forward to engaging my community in a conversation about our organization's future and direction. I'm deeply grateful for this opportunity.
I invite you to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to RCEF to help me celebrate my new role! ... See MoreSee Less
